Make the topping
Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix well.

Slice the bread
Use a knife to cut the bread crosswise into 4 slices, each about ¾” thick.

Butter the bread
Spread each slice of bread with 1 teaspoon of butter.
