Preferences
Make the filling
Add the chopped artichoke hearts and spinach to a medium bowl. Add the cream cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan, green onion and chile flakes, if using. Mix and mash with a fork until evenly combined, then set aside.

Prepare the June Pan
Lightly coat the June Pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Prepare the bread
Spread a thin layer of butter (1 teaspoon) on 1 side of 1 slice of bread. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon Parmesan evenly over the butter. Place the bread Parmesan-side down on the June Pan. Repeat with the other 3 slices of bread.

Fill the sandwiches
Divide the mozzarella between 2 bread slices, sprinkling it to the edges. Divide the cream cheese filling between the other 2 bread slices, spreading it to the edges. Set cooking preferences using the button below. Recommended settings are prepopulated.

Cook the sandwiches
Place the pan on the middle shelf of the June Oven. Cook the sandwiches about 17 minutes, until the filling is hot, the cheese has melted and the bread is crispy and brown. June will notify you when the sandwiches are ready. If desired, follow on-screen directions to continue cooking.

Close the sandwiches
Remove the pan from the oven and set it on a cooling rack. Close the sandwiches so 1 bread slice with cheese and 1 bread slice with filling are facing with the toppings enclosed. Press down and transfer to a chopping board.

Serve the sandwiches
Allow the sandwiches to cool 1 minute to let the filling set a bit, then slice in half. Serve hot.
