Halve and core the apples
Place the apples on a chopping board and slice each apple in half. Using a spoon or a melon baller, remove the seeds and core from each apple half to create a small hole in the center of the apple.

Flatten the bottom of the apple
With your non-dominant hand, hold one apple half on its side so it’s perpendicular to the chopping board. Slice off a very thin portion of the bottom of the apple so the apple will sit flat on the chopping board without rocking. Repeat with the rest of the apple halves. Place all apples on the June Pan.

Add the raisins and filling
Add 1 teaspoon of raisins to the hole in each apple. Top the raisins with about 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture, mounding the filling atop the apple half.
2 tablespoons golden raisins
Add the water
Add the water to the pan around the apples.
liquid measuring cup
¼ cup water
Bake the apples
Place the apples on the middle shelf of the oven. Bake the apples 35 minutes, until the filling is darkly caramelized, the apples are tender, and the water has become a golden pan sauce. If desired, follow on-screen instructions to continue baking.
Garnish and serve
Remove the apples from the oven and place on a cooling rack or heat proof surface. Transfer the apples to plates or a serving platter, drizzling with the pan sauce as desired.
